Check out the four fun, funky, fabulous Night Scene entries we've received so far. They're wonderful! I love how this challenge lends itself to some of my favorite colors.

Ch #24 COFFEE Challenge Favorites Announced

Hi Everyone,

What a bunch of fantastic entries for a fantastic challenge idea from Pat Mitchell (MosaicWench).

Thank you to everyone who participated by entering a piece or voting.

As seems to happen often in this group, the person who thought up the challenge won the challenge.


Congratulations, Pat, on creating the number one favorite piece, "Java Jive".




The first runner up piece is, "Percolation", by Chris Emmert.
I love the zen feel of this entry.




The second runner up piece is, "Ahhh, Coffee", made by Jenny (WackyWeeder). Congratulations, Jenny!

Ch #24 - "Coffee" Challenge - Time to Vote!

The Coffee Challenge just ended July 31, and we have six fantastic entries. See better details here.


When you've decided on your three favorites, please send me a Flickr Mail at Millimomo or a regular email at Millimomo@gmail.com with the number of the piece and the artists' names. You have through August 7 to vote, and the three favorites will be announced August 8.


This is the first month that all three favorites will receive prizes. I'm so excited about this! Tammy, from Glass Tile of Oklahoma, has kindly agreed to give all three faves a gift certificate to her wonderful store. Check it out here.

Ch #23 Mythical Beast / Creature - Favorites Announced

Hi Everyone,

The "Mythical Beast / Creature" Challenge recently ended, and we had seven fantastic entries. Check them out here.


The number one favorite for this challenge is, "The Tale of the Firebird", by Laurie Amber. Check out Laurie's photostream to see more photos of wonderful details in this piece.




The first runner up is, "Phoenix Rising" by Victor Nunnally. Victor does amazing mosaics on windows.




The second runner up is "Totoro" by Laura (LauraInSpain on Flickr). Laura won the "Angel" challenge that ended at the same time as the Mythical Beast challenge!

Ch #22 "Angel" Favorites Announced

Hi Everyone!

I'm sending out a big congratulations to everyone who participated in the "Angel" Challenge in the Mosaic Challenge Group on Flickr. It was a really special challenge picked by Valerie Hornby, and the pieces entered were fantastic.


The number one favorite piece is, "Seeing the Light" by Luara (LauraInSpain on Flickr)

Laura has won a $25 gift certificate from Tammy at Glass Tiles of Oklahoma and, of course, everyone's admiration! :-)

When I first looked at this piece I thought the angel's body was a small sculpture from glass or lucite. The work Laura did to create the look of depth and defining the muscularity is amazing.




The first runner up place belongs to Valerie Hornby (MosaicMuse on Flickr) for her gorgeous piece, "Butterfly Kisses". What a sweet piece.




The second runner up piece is, "Cheryl's Angel" made by Stephnie (KatesGroome on Flickr).

I love this piece, because the angel seems so light and cheerful, and the lighting around her head is wonderful.
