Cindi B's Favorite Mosaic

Hi Everyone,

I'm sending a big thank you to Cindi B for submitting a photo of her favorite mosaic made by her. Look at that beautiful purple glass, and the wonderful use of triangles in the background.

This is her favorite because "it turned out exactly as I pictured it would and I love the colors when the light shines through and the shape of the plate is cool, too!"

Cindi, thank you so much for submitting your piece!

Your Favorite Mosaic

Good Morning Everyone!

We have over a month before the voting will start for the Pot Challenge, so in an effort to keep this blog interesting in the meantime, I'd like to post photos of your favorite mosaics made by you. If you'd like to tell me why it's your favorite, that's even better. Please don't be shy, and whatever you do - don't be humble! :-)

You sending me your photo (or a link to the photo on Flickr or some other photo sharing site) will be your agreement that it's okay for me to display the photo here in this blog and nowhere else.

Please email me at Millimomo@gmail.com. Since we have to have a cut-off somewhere, I'll only display photos I receive through Tuesday, August 5, 2008.

No Piddly Prizes

Wow! Tammy from TileShack has generously offered to provide prizes. And we're not talking about the piddly prizes I had in mind, or even the "poor" prizes I'd hoped to move up to, but...um....(trying to think up a "P" word that means awesome or super or great, but apparently it's still too early for creative thinking of that magnitude)...anyway, it's a stuPendous (how's that?) prize: a $25 gift certificate to her store. I am really amazed at her generosity.

Tammy, again, thank you so much!

Current Mosaic Challenges

July 27 - August 31: Pot

The first challenge will be a short one to get us started. The challenge is "Pot". You might want to mosaic a pot, a picture of a pot, the back of a pot (as in pots and pans) - whatever. It's up to you. It's your interpretation.

July 27 - September 30: Reflections of...

This could be anything that reflects or is a reflection. You could mosaic a mirror, mosaic something using mirror tile, or mosaic an image that includes a reflection. Again, it's up to your interpretation.

*****************************************************

It's okay if you happen to already have a piece in progress at the beginning of the challenge (what a happy coincidence!), but please do not submit anything that was already complete at the beginning of the challenge.

Have fun!

Welcome to the Mosaic Challenge

Hello Mosaic Lovers,

This blog is meant to inspire and motivate people to make mosaic art that they might not normally gravitate towards.

Every month a new Mosaic Challenge subject will be announced. Those interested in participating will have at least two months to complete their piece (or pieces) and submit a photo to me at MilliMoMo@gmail.com, which I'll post here in the blog.

The goal of this group is to provide motivation to stretch yourselves by trying new things.

At the end of each month there will be a vote for a "Favorite". The winner of the favorite will win a prize (true, they might be teeny, tiny prizes, but there WILL be prizes).

Some of you might be familiar with my very similar group in Flickr. That is such a fun group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/mosaicchallenge/), and I have no intention of changing it. I've simply decided to add this format, because it will allow me to award prizes.

Please comment freely.

I can't wait to see your art!

Lynne
